Officially, it's "The Good Life" as so it is called in Great Britain where the show originates. When the show
migrated to America the title was changed to "Good Neighbors" Other than the title change the series is as
it was when aired in Great Britain.
The reason for the title change is found in Tim Brooks and Earles Marsh's "The Complete Directory To
Prime Time Network TV Shows, 1964-Present" (New York Ballantine Books, 1988) (ISBN 0-345-35610-1).
From September 1971 to January 1972 there was an American sitcom titled "The Good Life" starring
Larry Hagman, (Of "I Dream Of Jeannie" and "Dallas" fame.) Donna Mills, David Wayne, Hermione
Baddeley, and Danny Goldman. Aired on the NBC network.
The decision for the British show title change was made so to eliminate confusion with the earlier American
show.
